IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION FROM THE EMBASSY OF LEBANON IN OTTAWA

Only 5 year travel document applications (Regular or Biometric) are permitted.

Loss of a travel document

1. Police report on the loss of the travel document (the person concerned must inform the local police and obtain from them a duly signed report explaining the circumstances of the loss of the travel document).

2. Identity card for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon (original + copy).

3. UNRWA card (original + copy).

4. A copy of the duly filled out Palestinian Travel Document Loss Form available for download online here.

5. Two recent colour photos (Size 4,3 x 3,5 cm not drawn from another photos) showing full details of the face with a white background. (not more than 6 months old)

6. A copy of a valid residence card in Canada or a Canadian passport (original document + photocopy).

7. A copy of the lost travel document.

Getting a new Travel Document

• Renewing the travel document for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon is no longer available according to the instructions of the Lebanese General Security.

• Requests are limited to obtaining a new travel document, whether it is non-biometric or biometric.

• The presence of the applicant is mandatory in front of the embassy, notary public or honorary consulate.

• The applicant has the right to submit one application for himself and for a group of people or his family. Attendance of all group or family members will be mandatory, except for minors (Below 18 years old).

• Biometric travel documents for Palestinian refugees in Lebanon are only issued for the first time, and are not renewable. However, a new application for a biometric travel document can be submitted in front of the embassy, notary public or honorary consulate.

• Duration of obtaining a new travel document:

  • a) at least four months if the application was sent to Lebanon via the diplomatic pouch of the embassy,

  • b) if the application was sent via DHL courier company, the period will usually be two months. DHL service is optional and at the expense of the concerned person who must take the necessary steps by following the instructions here and then submit the application in front of the embassy, notary public or honorary consulate with the required documents listed below.

• In the case of submitting an application for a minor:

  • a) The presence of both parents is mandatory when applying.

  • b) Parents must sign a written consent at the embassy premises

  • c) In the event of the death of one or both parents, as well as in the event of divorce, written consent to travel and signature of the application will be required, either from the legal guardian or legal representative with a clear authorization for this purpose, or from the person who has legal guardianship with a document issued by the competent court And certified by the competent authorities.

  • d) In the event that the parent, guardian or legal representative is located outside Canada, the written permission to travel must be attested by the accredited Lebanese embassy or consulate in the country in which the person is located or by the competent notary public in countries that do not have diplomatic representation Lebanese, provided that the date of signature does not exceed 3 months.

  • e) In the case of divorce and child custody, the judgment issued in this regard must be submitted

Required Documents:

1. Presenting the current travel document in front of the embassy, honorary consulate or notary public + sending two copies of it.

2. Presenting the identity card of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon + sending two copies of it.

3. Presenting the UNRWA card + two copies of it.

4. A copy of the new travel document application form duly filled out and available for download online here.

6. A copy of a valid residence card in Canada or a Canadian passport.
